Celebrate every tiny victory

First week of the new year has come to an end. If you are like me, you probably do not really feel like it is a new year because it all still feels the same. It is 2020 2.0, at least that is how it feels in my mind but hey, do not let these current, trying times discourage you. Yes, we are still in a pandemic and for most part of the world, it is either full or partial Lockdown. Yes, the devil is still at work and trust me he works damn hard but do not be discouraged. We are still here; we are still very much alive and therefore we are going to do great things. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

This blog post is going to be short and sweet. I am here to tell you to celebrate your wins. Celebrate your wins no matter how small you think they might be. It can be anything. Even if it is as “insignificant” as just getting through a bad day, trust me, that is an achievement in itself. You survived the year 2020, tap yourself on the shoulder because not only did you survive in a pandemic, but you also had to adjust and navigate everything else going on in other areas of your life.

As humans we tend to have a list of things that need to be done and when one thing out of that “To-do” list gets done, instead of pausing and being grateful for that, No, it immediately jumps to the next task on the list. Taking myself as an example, when I was searching for an apartment between April/May and August, I cried, I prayed, I viewed a couple of apartments which I did not get, however when I got one instead of being grateful and acknowledge what I prayed for, acknowledge that God had come through for me, I immediately when in an unhealthy and ungrateful state of mind. I started complaining, the place was too small, my son wont have as much space as I had hoped, my plans for us didn’t come to live as I had imagined…. I complained about everything and I am not going to lie, I still have such days even as I try to encourage you guys to celebrate your little wins.

That my lovelies, is just one example of how I fall short in the appreciation department and celebrating my little wins. I could go on and on and on, but I did say it would be short and sweet, ooops! Sooo, my lovelies take out time to breath and acknowledge what you worked for, what you wished for and most importantly what you prayed for. They are all there, we humans are just too blind to see the beauty in the simple things. A win does not have to be hitting a lottery, writing a book, or earning huge figures in your line of work, of course all these things are great, but Rome was not built in a day. Celebrate the little wins along the way. Your glass is half full, not half empty. Well, it was not as short as I thought after all but if you have come thus far, you know the drill. Chin up and read Isaiah 41:10.
